I discovered Finnish black metal band Nekrokrist SS through their split with fellow Finns the mighty Förgjord, and have been enjoying their brutal, blackened blasts for the past few hours. Path of Depression is taken from their 2011 split with Nattfog.
After something of a crazy day, my brain and body was in dire need of something mellow, but rough around the edges, and so I found myself gravitating towards Finnish project Kuilu and their demo from 2014. Here's the 1st track. The vocals towards the end eat into your soul. Enjoy.
I don't know much about Finnish black metal project Kêres yet, but one thing I do know is that they are probably going to be one of my favourite discoveries of 2015. I'm thoroughly enjoying Eagle taken from their 2014 EP The Eagle and the Scorpion.

Storming into the weekend with Virvatulet, a black metal project from Finland. Ulvontaa Laaksojen Halki or Howling Through The Valleys is taken from Demo'11. It's an epic, soul wrenching track which requires multiple listens.
Förgjord are, in my opinion, one of Finland’s supreme black metal exports, and to have them feature on Wyrd Words & Effigies is an honour of the highest degree. What's Förgjord’s back story?
