Sound Of The Day : Bekëth Nexëhmü

I'm starting the new year with Swedish black metal! I've been listening to a lot of Swedish stuff recently, trying to uncover some dark gems I might have missed. Bekëth Nexëhmü, the solo project of Swartadauþuz is highly recommend if you like your black metal epic, yet still raw and crushing.

Odd Things

After a few days of studying the art work of Erika Sanada, I'm still finding it hard to believe that her disturbing series 'Odd Things' has been crafted using ceramics. Her curious creatures are a reflection of her sensitive mind, her bitter childhood and current anxieties.

Sound Of The Day : Selvhat

The late Norwegian musician Steingrim Torson was the man behind black metal project Selvhat. Infatuated with 'Selvhat' from the 2004 demo Den Svarte Tid. I could have this on repeat all day.

The Gnarled Branch

Artist David Irvine of Gnarled Branch is the one behind this fantastically dark Christmas ornaments. But for those of us who are a bit strange...I'm pretty sure they would look striking hung up anywhere, at any time of the year.

Popovy Sisters

The Popovy Sisters of Russia make the most strangely beautiful art dolls that you will have ever seen. I kind of want to be the first one...

Sound Of The Day : Occult

Discovered Occult, a neo-folk twosome from Sweden yesterday, and haven't been able to stop listening to them. The vocals on this song in particular are incredibly beautiful, incredibly haunting, incredibly unique. I need more music like this in my life.

I've featured the darkly magnificent jewellery works of Unusual Optical before, but recently some new products have been  added to the Etsy store which need to be shared and seen by all.
