See What I See

I’ve been using Pinterest a fair bit recently. I find it to be a healthier alternative to Instagram. There’s more of ‘the good stuff’ there, and I tend not to find myself pining for the old days, before the word ‘selfie’ was thought up by a drunk Australian.

When I go there to gather inspiration, I always arrive at my homepage where Pinterest has produced a never ending scroll for me of stuff. Everything is connected to the searches I’ve done in the past and it’s just the greatest fucking thing.

Before I begin gathering my harvest of unknowns, I set a timer for 10 minutes (hell, if you knew just how easy it is to go over that…) and I spend those 10 minutes scrolling and saving things that spark ideas, things that touch me, things that motivate me to action. Sometimes, I will get a prompt for a poem or a short story or a blog post. Other times I will read words I need to read or see art I need to see in order to get up and get on with the day.

It occurred to me today, as I was gathering and learning and growing, that it might be really nice to share my harvest with you…so here’s all what I gathered in my precious 10 minute stint on Pinterest.
