I have a true respect for people with debilitating conditions who transform their issues into art. Once such creative is Michael Massaia.
Back in 2007 Massaia found himself suffering with insomnia. Unable to rest, he’d take long walks around Central Park at night. I’d always found Central Park to be somewhere that’s pretty god damn unnerving, thanks to Home Alone 2… but then, when I visited back in 2004 in daylight, my deeply rooted fear evaporated. But these chilling captures, caught between 2008 and 2014 – have brought it right back and buried it deep where it belongs…
“The park appears to go through a period of metamorphosis during those late night/early morning hours,” he wrote on his official website. “And I was determined to capture it.” – Michael Massaia
