I haven’t spent much time on Etsy this year, but one of the discoveries I (thankfully) made on one of my brief visits was Dark Crosses, a store providing ‘Counted cross-stitch charts with a darker twist.’
Based in York, England Dark Crosses is run by Jacob de Graaf, a Netherlands native who moved to York – coincidentally Europe’s most haunted city – in 2006.
In Jacob’s words…
Dark Crosses makes fun cross-stitch charts with a darker twist, ideal for Halloween, or as gifts for friends and family with a wicked sense of humour! I take pride in creating beautiful pattern booklets with nice cover designs, stitching information, and clear, well thought out charts, making your stitching experience a much more pleasant one.
Jacob also runs the hugely inspiring Modern Folk Embroidery, which you’ll bloody love if you’re into stitching folky art.
I will be investing in some of Dark Crosses patterns once my bank account is a little bit healthier. My eye is paying much attention to the All Are Equal In Death.
