Phantom Mistress : Paradise of the Damned III was one of the first things to come up on my YouTube feed today. The imagery intrigued me, and the fact it was hosted on one of my favourite channels – Atmospheric Black Metal Albums – made me decide to give it a go.
This eclectic album consists of songs created by the woman behind the project, Eija Risen, alone with a Burzum cover. (Jesus Tod, in case you’re wondering. And yes, it is good and well worth listening to.) Inspired by melancholy, femininity, escapism and space, Eija has crafted something really quite unique and special.
