Storming into the weekend with Virvatulet, a black metal project from Finland. Ulvontaa Laaksojen Halki or Howling Through The Valleys is taken from Demo'11. It's an epic, soul wrenching track which requires multiple listens.

Forest are brutal, raw, addictive black metal from Russia. This particular track was released back in 1997 and has maintained its strength over the years.
Starting my Sunday off with some Swedish black metal. I've recently discovered progressive bm band Bergraven and have been enjoying their 2007 full-length Dodsvisioner. I usually approach progressive/post bm with a level of skepticism because, more often than not, I'm let down. But Bergraven have demolished any doubts I may have harboured.
Swedish BM band Anti-Christian Assault are ESSENTIAL listening for any black metal enthusiast. I was pretty gutted to discover that this powerful, two man outfit has only released one (self-titled) EP to date, but I'm keeping my digits crossed they'll unleash something new sooner rather than later.
