I’m tired. So writing something lengthy and comprehensible will not be happening this evening. And I’m ok with that. Or, at least, I’m learning how to be ok with that, with being tired and not on what I consider to be ‘top form.’
However, I’ll be damned if I miss a day from this challenge. Instead, I’m offering a few profound quotes from some wise folk about joy, love and courage, which I scratched down in my notebook this week.
When I’ve posted, I’m going to make some porridge (because I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself and porridge is my comfort food at such times) and watch that new film Fall (I’m also learning how to be able to watch a film without feeling guilty for doing so) because as much as I want to bury my head in a book, tragically there’s no way I can concentrate enough to gain anything from the written word tonight.
Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.

Never forget what bestirs you.
Edna O’Brien
Joy comes to us in moments – ordinary moments. We risk missing out on joy when we get too busy chasing down the extraordinary.
Brené Brown
You can’t love others when you’re busy hating yourself.
